Adult Acne

You thought just because you made it through your teenage years that this stressor was gone forever, but some struggle with it well into adulthood. That doesn't mean you can't do anything about it.

Adult acne is one of the most common issues I see and one that I usually solve in about 3-6 services.

First things first, Retinol is amazing for anti-aging, but it actually works wonders on breakouts. Especially hormonal acne! Retinol can carry many names, but what the different names boil down to is its delivery system to the cell. You see, it’s all just vitamin A!

If you or someone you know is suffering from adult acne or other forms, my top go-to service suggestions would be:

  1. Facials: the best place to start, an educated professional will be able to treat you and hold your hand along the process.

  2. Chemical Peels: burn it down and start over! Bacteria that cause acne have a hard time surviving the wrath of a good peel, especially one formulated for such things.

Side bonus, your skin will be rejuvenated and feel amazing, not to mention be on a path to healthier, radiant, more resilient skin!

At-home care is critical to getting on top of your breakouts. Getting a facial performed and not following up at home with the right products is like seeing a nutritionist and not following their diet. What you’ve been doing isn’t working, so don’t think that by some miracle something will change if you keep at it.

Pregnancy with acne is a different issue, so make sure if you are pregnant or breastfeeding you inform your practitioner. What’s good for the goose is not always good for the gander.

Grade 4 Acne needs to be treated by a doctor to resolve because there is usually an underlying infection happening and until you take care of the infection, your skin will not be able to improve. Estheticians and doctors work wonders hand in hand.

If you have questions about your skin, please feel free to comment or message me. We’re in this together!
